Helene de Nervo de Montgeroult
1764 - 1836
Trained as a fortepianist, Montgeroult was appointed professor de premire classe at the Paris Conservatoire. Although her name disappeared from the faculty after her second year, her compositions lived on through her students because of their important influence on early French piano pedagogy.
