Elizabeth Weichsell Billington
1765 - 1818
English harpsichordist, pianist, soprano, and composer, Billington was the daughter of Carl Weichsell, a German born oboist and clarinet player. Her mother was a well-known singer and a pupil of J.C. Bach, with whom Elizabeth had singing lessons. She appeared publicly at an early age with her brother and enjoyed a highly successful career as a singer.
