Jane Mary Guest (1764 - 1846)

A child prodigy who was said to be one of J.C. Bach's last pupils, Guest won renown as professional musician, eventually earning recognition from Queen Charlotte. Reports of her playing stress her legato style. Her published sonatas are melodically expressive and include violin parts that are generally subordinate, in the style of her day.
