Amy Beach (1867 - 1944)

Amy BeachAmy Beach was one of the first important women composers in America. She was known not only as a virtuoso pianist, making her debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at age sixteen, but she was also the first American woman to compose successfully in large forms.
