(Hpd, Fl, Ob, Bsn, 2Tpt, 2Vln, Vla, Vc, CB)
These folksong settings by world-renowned harpsichordist, Wanda Landowska, evoke the Polish countryside where she spent much of her childhood. The settings are scored for harpsichord, flute, oboe, bassoon and occasionally strings in homage to the fondness of woodwinds and bagpipes. When the scores of the settings were confiscated during World War II, Landowska reconstructed them from memory, dictating to editor Denise Restout. Includes extensive introductory material from the composer and editor.
