For Solo Piano
Deep was composed for the pianist, Victoria Bragin on a trip to Papua New Guinea in 2006. The music was inspired by imagined sounds of water flowing over rock, shaping stone over millennia. Deep premiered in San Francisco in 2006 and the performance was accompanied by photographic images by Russell E. Jacobs from a series he took in the depths of Antelope Canyon in Arizona entitled “Deep passageways carved by water on stone”.
