Sonata for Piano and Violin in Eb major was composed in 1872, the same year she composed her Sonata for Violin and Piano in Bb major. It is representative of the large romantic-style sonatas of Andrée’s contemporaries, such as Johannes Brahms, using classical forms with dramatic, lyrical phrases and bold dynamic changes. This sonata was not published during Andrée’s lifetime. This is the first published edition of this work.
