Le Beau’s String Quartet in G minor, op. 34 (1884), is one of her most original pieces of chamber music. The two outer movements are quick, in the tonic minor, and follow the general outline of sonata form. The inner movements include a slow variation movement in B-flat major, followed by a gypsy-dance finale in F major.
The edition includes introduction material about the composer and the work. The parts include editor’s suggested fingerings and bowings.
