Margaret Bonds Choral Sampler Pack Available

Margaret Bonds Sampler Pack

Our selection of choral music by Margaret Bonds is steadily growing. These works are published by Hildegard for the first time and are finally getting their due! Choral musicians will love Bonds’ beautiful harmonies set to powerful texts. The Choral Sampler Pack includes 1 copy each of St. Francis Prayer, No Man Has Seen His Face, Touch the Hem of His Garment, Sleep Song, and We Shall Overcome, You Can Tell the World and Especially Do I Believe. The Choral Sampler Pack is a great way for music directors to explore this repertoire for their ensembles. The Choral Sampler Pack is priced at $17.95, a significant savings over purchasing each octavo separately.

Margaret Bonds

Margaret Bonds lived, performed and composed during the mid-20th century. She composed sacred and secular works during her lifetime. For her chorual works, she used traditional texts, such as the much loved words of St. Francis prayer – “Lord make me an instrument of thy peace”; well known texts by famous writers like WEB duBois; as well as words penned by her friends and collaborators – such as Janice Lovoos, a multifaceted artist, critic, and librettist.
