Lucia Quinciani

b. fl. 1611

The enigmatic composer Lucia Quinciani, a disciple of Marc'Antonio Negri, is known for her only extant composition, Udite lagrimosi spirti, a monody largely characteristic of those in vogue in the early seventeenth century. For further information, see "Women Composers: Music Through the Ages," volume I. HPC #09857.
